An elastic belt that clips to the tabs on the pouch or barrier. It does two jobs: reassurance that the pouch will not shift, and even pressure that helps a convex barrier stay seated.

The belt should sit level with the belt tabs, around the body at the height of the stoma, and be snug rather than tight. If it digs in or leaves a mark, it is too tight and can pull the barrier out of position rather than holding it.
Belts are most often recommended alongside a convex barrier, where even pressure around the stoma is part of how the seal works. They are also worth trying when a pouch feels insecure during activity, or when the weight of a full pouch is loosening the wafer edge before it should.

Snug, not tight. You should be able to slide a finger underneath. Over-tightening can lift the barrier edge instead of securing it.
It is commonly used with convexity because even pressure helps the seal, but it is not compulsory. It is worth trying if the barrier is lifting at the edges.
