Two-piece systems only fit when the flange size on the pouch matches the flange size on the skin barrier. Hollister Conform 2 uses 45, 55 and 70 mm; HDL-Hendry uses 50, 60 and 70 mm. The two ranges are not interchangeable.
Convexity is a solution to a specific problem, not an upgrade. It is indicated when the stoma is flush with the skin or retracted, when the skin around it dips inward, or when a flat barrier plus a ring is still leaking. If a flat barrier is working, there is no reason to change.
Because convexity works by applying pressure, fit matters more than usual, and it is normally used together with a belt so the pressure stays even. It is not suitable for every stoma — a newly formed or protruding stoma, or fragile peristomal skin, can be made worse by pressure. This is one to discuss with your stoma nurse or surgeon before switching.
